FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia men's basketball team led at the half, and was within four points of Cortland in the closing minutes, but could not get over the hump, falling 78-65 to the Red Dragons. De'Quan Smith led the Devils with 13 points off the bench, and Kadeem Riddick added 10.

Fredonia led 34-32 at halftime. Smith scored all of his points in the first half to lead the charge.

Cortland came out of the locker room and was red hot from three point range early in the second half. The Dragons connected on five threes in the first five minutes of the half. They would outscore the Devils 29-9 over the first eight minutes for their biggest lead of the game, 61-43.

Fredonia would fight back, pulling to within four points following a 19-5 run. A three pointer by Tyler Roberts made it a 66-62 game with just under three minutes remaining.

Cortland would ice the game by going 10 of 10 from the line to finish the game. Overall, the Dragons were 20 of 22 from the line.
