FREDONIA, N.Y. --
Robert Atwood (Avon, N.Y. / Avon) and
Cameron Criss (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) finished 1-2 in the 50 yard freestyle to highlight the Fredonia swim teams tri-meet vs. Alfred and the University of Rochester on Saturday. Atwood finished in 22.48 and Criss followed with a 22.62.
Fredonia also earned a first in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:28.48 -- their season best. Criss, Atwood,
Jacob Favret (Watertown, N.Y. / Watertown), and
Drew Page (Avon, N.Y. / Avon) made up the quartet.
Zachary Dean (Rushville, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman) was second in the 200 freestyle in 1:52.47. Favret was runner up in the 100 breast stroke (1:01.54).
The 200-yard medley relay team touched second in a time of 1:40.50. The quartet was made up of
Brad Zifra (Springville, N.Y. / Springville), Favret, Criss, and Atwood.
Head coach Arthur Wang was pleased with his team's effort. "Our times continued to improve and climb within the rankings in the SUNYAC."
The Devils are off until Dec. 6th when the play host to the three-day Blue Devil Invitational.
