OT goal by Kwiatkowski sinks St. John Fisher

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia freshman defender Emily Kwiatkowski (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier) scored in the 92nd minute in the Blue Devils' 1-0 non-conference home win Tuesday over the St. John Fisher Cardinals.

Kwiatkowski was alone on the left half of the field when freshman forward Karen Johnson (Jamestown, N.Y./Southwestern) delivered a perfect crossing pass from near the opposite sideline. The play began with a throw-in and ended with Kwiatkowski chipping the ball into the upper right corner for her third goal of the season and her first collegiate game-winner.

Sophomore goalkeeper Abbey Monahan (Warsaw, N.Y./Warsaw) made six saves while earning her third shutout. St. John Fisher had a 13-8 advantage in shots while Fredonia had a wide 7-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Blue Devils improved to 7-7-0 heading into their Friday afternoon match vs. Cortland. Game time is 4 p.m.
