WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- Fredonia women's tennis defeated D'Youville, 9-0, to improve to 8-1 this fall.
Two Blue Devils, junior
Olivia Miller (Springwater, N.Y.) and freshman
Sarah Bunk (Sayville, N.Y.), improved to 9-0 in singles, while sophomore
Anna Chiacchia (Hamburg, N.Y.) moved to 8-1. The school record for singles wins in a season is 10, set by Chiacchia last season.
Miller continued to add to her school-record career singles total with 24 while Chiacchia, with 18, moved up into a tie for fifth on the all-times singles list.
Taylor Rubens (Fairport, N.Y.), a freshman, won her first collegiate singles match. Junior
Adriana Speach (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and freshman
Christy May (Buffalo, N.Y.) were also singles winners.
Miller and Chiacchia, Speach and Bunk, and juniors
Mallory Mecca (Derby, N.Y.) and
Avril King (Naples, N.Y.) were doubles winners.
The Blue Devils close out their regular season Tuesday at Pitt.-Bradford.
