ERIE, Pa. -- Fredonia fell to 0-2 following its 1-0 women's soccer loss to Ithaca at the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament hosted by Penn State Behrend.
A goal by Ithaca's Maddie Amidon in the 89th minute broke a scoreless tie. It came on a scramble in front of Fredonia freshman goalkeeper
Marissa Quimby (Ballston Lake, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) after a long pass into the box from the right wing.
Quimby made three saves as did Ithaca's Stacey DiGiorgio. Fredonians
Karly Torppey (Niagara Falls, N.Y. / Niagara-Wheatfield),
Abby Price (Naples, N.Y. / Naples), and
Audrey Yokopovich (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) each had one shot on goal.
Fredonia returns to action next Friday afternoon vs. D'Youville in the first round of the Blue Devil Classic at University Stadium.
