ERIE, Pa. -- Fredonia lost by identical 3-0 scores to Penn State Behrend in a non-conference softball doubleheader Tuesday.
The Blue Devils (13-21) managed just eight hits in the doubleheader. They had three in the opener, including triples by
Katie Yudin (Liverpool, N.Y.) and
Khee Nance (Dunkirk, N.Y.). Yudin's came with two outs in the third, Nance's with two outs in the seventh. In the nightcap,
Katelyn Dennis (Webster, N.Y.) and Nance each had a pair of singles. The Blue Devils left two stranded in the second and the bases loaded in the seventh.
Sam Seegar (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) and
Emily Shellenberger (Philadelphia, Pa.) were the pitchers of record. Seegar gave up three earned runs on six hits in the opener. Shellenberger scattered nine hits and allowed two earned runs in the second game.
The Blue Devils close out their season with a pair of weekend SUNYAC doubleheaders -- Friday at Potsdam, Saturday at Plattsburgh.
