CHAIN OF LAKES, FLA -- The Fredonia baseball team opened its SUNYAC season with 4-1 and 4-2 losses to No. 16 Oswego on Friday.
In Game 1,
Steve Zaprowski had a pair of hits and the Devils' lone RBI. Starting pitcher
Jake Harford scattered seven hits over six innings, allowing all four runs.
Michael Williamson finished with a pair of scoreless innings.
Michael Prentice drove in a pair of runs in Game 2. He had a sacrifice fly in the first, and an RBI single in the third that gave the Devils a 2-1 lead at the time.
Oswego (10-4) took its first lead when Mike Dellicarri hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the third. They added an insurance run in the sixth.
Starting pitcher
Michael Wilcox went five innings giving up five hits and three runs.
Ben Atkinson tossed the final inning, allowing one run.
Ciro Frontale had three hits in the doubleheader.
The Devils fall to 8-6 on the season and wrap up their Florida Trip Saturday afternoon with a single game against Fredonia.
