BRADFORD, PA. -- The Fredonia women's tennis team won its final regular-season match and improved to 9-1 after defeating Bradford, 7-2 on Tuesday.

No. 2 singles Olivia Miller (Springwater, N.Y. / Wayland-Cohocton) and No. 3 singles Sarah Bunk (Sayville, N.Y. / Sayville) both won 8-0 to improve to. 10-0 this season, tying the single-season team record for wins set last year by teammate Anna Chiacchia (Hamburg, N.Y.). Chiacchia, playing No. 1 singles, won her match Tuesday 8-0 to improve to 9-1.

The other two singles winners were Chloe Karnisky (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua) and Christy May (Buffalo, N.Y. / Sweet Home). Karnisky was an 8-4 winner in the No. 4 role, while May won 8-3 at the No. 5 spot. Mallory Mecca (Derby, N.Y. / Eden) dropped her match, 8-6.

Fredonia won two of the three doubles matches. Adriana Speach (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) and Bunk won No. 2 doubles, 8-1. Mecca and Anna Clark (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Academy) took No. 3 doubles by an 8-4 score. Miller and Chiacchia dropped a 9-8 decision at No. 1 doubles.

The Blue Devils are scheduled to make up a suspended SUNYAC match at Geneseo prior to heading to the conference tournament starting Sept. 14 at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
