FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The winter sports season gets an early start this weekend when the Fredonia swimming & diving season opens 1 p.m. Saturday at Ithaca.

Taylor Chwalinski (West Seneca, N.Y.), a senior, is captain of the women's team and seniors Bill Bradley (Dunkirk, N.Y.) and Ben Chatley (Sanborn, N.Y.) captains of the men's team. Assistant captains are Alyson Baumann (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) for the women and junior Jonah Adeson (Queensbury, N.Y.) for the men.

The Blue Devils have five straight away meets before their first home meet, Nov. 18 vs. Nazareth. The other home meets are Dec. 1 through Dec. 3 (the Blue Devil Invitational) and Feb. 10 (Cortland).
