PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's basketball team scored a 63-48 victory at Plattsburgh on Friday to complete the season sweep of the Cardinals. Jacque Law (Machias, N.Y./Pioneer) led all scorers with 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Alexis Cheatham (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) and Jenna Einink (Westfield, N.Y./Chautauqua Lake) added 13 apiece, with Cheatham chipping in six assists. Sarah Sweazy (Rochester, N.Y./Rush Henrietta) had 10 points off the bench.

The first quarter saw the Devils struggle out of the gate, trailing 17-9. By halftime they would tie the game up, 27-all.

Fredonia opened the third quarter on an 8-1 run and never looked back. They would lead by as many as 11 points near the end of the quarter. Defensively they held Plattsburgh to just six points for the entire period.

They finished off the game outscoring the Cardinals 21-15 in the fourth quarter.

For the game, the Cardinals were held to 24 percent shooting from the field, including a three of 27 effort from three-point land.

Fredonia held a 42-32 advantage in rebounds, while hitting 35 percent from the field. They also made six of 17 three pointers, with Cheatham knocking down three. Jamie Curry (Ransomville, N.Y. / Wilson) and Kathryn Halloran (Angola, N.Y. / Immaculata) both grabbed eight boards.

Plattsburgh (5-6 overall, 1-4 SUNAYC) was led by Moe Jones with 14 points and Olivia Souky with 15 rebounds. 

The Devils improve to 10-1 and 5-0 in the SUNYAC. They take on Potsdam Saturday afternoon. The Devils downed the Bears 86-55 earlier this season.
