FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia men's basketball team fell 97-61 to SUNYAC frontrunner Brockport on Tuesday.
Thirteen different players figured in the scoring column, but none in double digits.
Justin Tapper (White Plains, N.Y. / White Plains) led the way with nine points, while Dante Williams (Buffalo, N.Y. / Hutch Tech) and
Christian Marinez (Jamaica, N.Y. / Hillcrest) added eight apiece.
Also for the Devils (5-7 SUNYAC, 8-11 overall),
Tommie Banks (Rochester, N.Y. / East) had three blocks and tied Tapper with a team-best six rebounds.
Brockport (10-1, 15-3) was led by a 25-point effort from Malick Sylla and got 21 points from Hamed Shamseldin.
The Eagles won the battle on the boards, 39-38.
The Devils initiated the scoring on a layup by Williams. Brockport scored the next three buckets and kept the lead the rest of the way. They built a 44-27 lead by halftime.
Fredonia returns home this Saturday in a resumption of The Battle by the Lake with Buffalo State at 4 p.m.
