FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Buffalo State defeated Fredonia, 83-75, in men's SUNYAC basketball action on Saturday. The Devils were led by a season-best 24 points from
Kareem Brown (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Brooklyn H.S. for Law & Tech), and
Richard De La Cruz (New York, N.Y. / Norman Thomas) added 20 to lead the Devils. Both nailed a trio of three pointers, combining to go six of 10 from beyond the arc.
Dante Williams (Buffalo, N.Y. / Hutch Tech) and
Justin Tapper (White Plains, N.Y. / White Plains) added 10 apiece, and Brown was the top rebounder with seven boards.
Nicc Johnson continued his solid defensive effort with four steals.
Buffalo State (13-6, 7-6 SUNYAC) got 22 points from Mike Henry and 17 from Lovell Smith. The Bengals also picked up a point in the Battle by the Lake, the traveling trophy between the two conference rivals. However, Fredonia leads 9.5 to 3.5 at this point in the season.
The Devils (8-12, 5-8) travel to New Paltz and Oneonta next weekend.
