BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Fredonia will head into SUNYAC men's soccer play this weekend fresh off a 7-0 non-conference win Tuesday night over D'Youville.
Jeremy Bari (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara-Wheatfield) and
Bryan Sibble (Liverpool, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) had two goals each while
Aaron Hayes (Hamburg, N.Y./St. Francis),
Parker Healy (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora), and
Ebenezer Johnson (Bronx, N.Y./New Visions Charter) had one goal each for the Blue Devils, who improved to 5-1-1. Healy also had two assists while
Ryan Keller (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) had one assist, the fifth straight game he's had at least one point.
Ranked No. 10 in the East Region of the latest NSCAA poll, the Blue Devils open their SUNYAC season at home 3 p.m. Friday vs. Brockport. They are also home Saturday at 1 1 p.m. vs. Geneseo.
Fredonia's starting goalkeeper the first three games of the season, Bari opened the scoring with his first collegiate goal just 1:25 into the game. Sibble scored in the seventh minute, again in the 14th minute, and Hayes in the 40th minute to give Fredonia a 4-0 halftime lead.
Bari's second goal in the 51st minute and Healy's goal in the 57th minute accounted for the first two goals of the second half. Johnson, a freshman, picked up his first collegiate assist on Healy's goal, then picked up his first collegiate goal in the 81st minute.
Ty Bentham (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) and
Eric Priester (Jamestown, N.Y./Southwestern) split the goaltender duties. Bentham wasn't called on to make a save over the first 45 minutes. Priester, seeing his first action as a Blue Devil, had one save in the final 45.
