NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- Fredonia led from start to finish Saturday while scoring a 15-4 women's lacrosse win over SUNYAC opponent New Paltz.
Junior midfielder
Kristie Kleine (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) scored 48 seconds into the game. It was Kleine's only goal of the game and her team-leading 37th of the season. more than picked up the slack.
Senior attack
Katie Miller (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) had five goals, freshman midfielder
Jade Williams (Tully, N.Y. / Lafayette) had three goals and two assists, and sophomore midfielder
Audrey Yokopovich (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Thomas) two goals and three assists. Yokopovich also collected four ground balls, took six draws, and caused four turnovers.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Nicole Burrows (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W Baker) made eight saves while the Blue Devils improved to 5-8 overall and 1-3 in the SUNYAC.
Fredonia finished with the upper hand in shots (23-13), ground balls (15-11) and draw controls (12-9). The Blue Devils also went 10-for-11 on clear attempts, while the Hawks went 3-for-4 on clears in the second half
New Paltz fell to 3-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
