CLERMONT, Fla. -- Rowan's Rachel Hofbauer scored the game-winning goal with six seconds left to edge Fredonia 11-10 in women's lacrosse at the National Training Center.
The Blue Devils (1-3) knotted the score on a goal by
Audrey Yokopovich (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) with 1:55 left. The Blue Devils had trailed by two goals earlier in the second half. They rallied on back-to-back goals by
Kristie Kleine (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) and
Katie Miller (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg).
Kleine had six goals and collected four ground balls for the Blue Devils, who took their last lead, 7-6, on a goal by
Monica Van Donsel (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) with 23 seconds left in the first half.
Samantha Spiess (Fairport, N.Y./Penfield) also collected four ground balls and had three draw controls. Yokopovich was credited with six draw controls.
In goal,
Nicole Burrows (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) made 13 saves for the Blue Devils, who return to action Monday vs. Stevens at Spring Fling in Bradenton, Fla.
