CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Fredonia men's basketball team fell 96-64 to Cortland on Saturday.
Richard De La Cruz topped the Devils with 19 points.
Cortland took control early with some hot shooting while the Devils struggled to find consistency from the field. The Red Dragons started 15 of 26 (58 percent) while the Devils started 7 of 23 (30 percent), spotting the hosts to a 36-18 lead.
Cortland led 47-31 at the half.
The Dragons led by as many as 37 in the second half. They held a 49-41 advantage in rebounds, had 12 steals to Fredonia's five, and held a 14-7 edge in three pointers.
Dante Williams led the Devils with eight rebounds. Fredonia was without leading scorer
Ian Helps.
James Morales had 20 points to lead Cortland, who improved its conference mark to 3-1, and 6-2 overall.
Fredonia (1-3 SUNYAC, 3-6 overall) takes the week off for final exams. They travel to Lycoming on Dec. 29th and 30th to participate in the Louis Fleming Basinger Memorial Tournament.
