FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's basketball team defeated Penn-State Behrend in its home opener Tuesday night, 100-83. Sophomore
Jenna Einink (Westfield, N.Y./Chautauqua Lake) led the way for the Blue Devils with a strong performance in the paint, accounting for 25 points and eight rebounds. Einink shot 53 percent (10 for 19) from the floor and went five for five from the charity stripe.

Jacque Law (Machias, N.Y./Pioneer) recorded 18 points, five steals and four rebounds.
Senior
Alexis Cheatham (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) added 17 points, shooting four of five from beyond the three-point line, along with seven assists.

Khee Nance (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk) and sophomore
Sarah Sweazy (Rochester, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) each contributed 14 points. Nance also snatched four rebounds, while Sweazy shot five of six from the field.
The Blue Devils jumped out to an early 15-5 lead. Behrend would eventually tie the game at 19 late in the first quarter.
The score was tied five more times before Behrend took its first lead, 44-43, late in the second quarter on an Emily Kinecki jumper. Cheatham hit a three-pointer to put the Blue Devils back ahead 46-44. Fredonia did not trail the rest of the game.
The Blue Devils went into halftime with a 53-46 lead.
The Lions kept it close trailing by five, 73-68, at the end of three quarters. The Blue Devils outscored Behrend 28-15 in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
Heidi Langhorst was the leading scorer Behrend recording a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Fontaine Glenn, Erika Woll, and Sadie Zielinski all scored in double digits.
Fredonia shot a sizzling 51 percent (39 of 77) from the floor, and outrebounded the Lions 47-44.
The Blue Devils are back in action on November 20 as they play host to Medaille College in a 2 p.m.tip-off.
