Devils fall one point short at Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Fredonia fell behind in doubles and was unable to make up for it in slngles during a 5-4 SUNYAC women's tennis loss Saturday to Oswego.

The host Lakers (4-5 overall / 1-2 SUNYAC) won two of the three doubles matches. Fredonia's lone point came from the No. 2 duo of junior Halee Dickinson (Brockport, N.Y.) and junior Chloe Cohen (West Hempstead, N.Y.).

Singles winners for Fredonia were junior Samantha Pedneault (East Moriches, N.Y.) at No. 1, freshman Olivia Miller (Springwater, N.Y.) at No. 2, and sophomore Chloe Karnisky (Canandaigua, N.Y.) at No. 5.

The doubles win for Cohen and the singles win for Miller gave each a 4-3 overall record this fall for a share of the team lead for wins.

Fredonia fell to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in the conference. The Blue Devils return to action Monday when they host the Alfred Saxons at 4 p.m. on the renovated Steele Hall courts.
