FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Geneseo converted a goal-mouth scramble in the 89th minute en route a 1-0 SUNYAC women's soccer win Friday afternoon over the Fredonia Blue Devils.
Emily Green put in a rebound off a shot from Leah Greene with 1:36 left. A drive to the net by Laurie Knapp got the play started.
The teams played a scoreless first half.and nearly stayed the way for a full 90 minutes before Geneseo's late goal. The win lifted the Blue Knights to 5-1-1 overall while the Blue Devils fell to 1-7-0. It was the SUNYAC opener for both teams.

Kendall Owczarzak (Depew, N.Y.) made 11 saves for Fredonia compared to two by Geneseo's Emily Janiszewski. Geneseo had a 22-7 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Blue Devils are back in action Saturday afternoon when Brockport visits University Stadium. Game time is 1 p.m.
