Hiram, Ohio – The Blue Devil women's volleyball team won the final two matches of the Hiram Invitational on Saturday to finish 3-1 on the weekend.
Fredonia now stands at 12-2 overall as they prepare to enter SUNYAC pool play in Buffalo, N.Y. next weekend.
Against Marietta,
Jessica DiChristopher (Cheektowaga, N.Y. / West Seneca East) led the team in four statistical categories: hitting percentage (.450), kills (11), aces (2), and blocks (3).
Kelly Edinger (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Athena) had 26 assists in the match, while
Lauren Hokaj (Lancaster, N.Y. / St. Mary's of Lancaster) had 16 digs.
DiChristopher hit for nine kills against Kalamazoo, while
Paulina Rein (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) and
Jane Garrity (Rochester, N.Y. / Victor) each had eight. Rein also collected 17 digs.
The team will play their first conference games next weekend, starting with New Paltz at 5 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday they'll take on Buffalo State at 10 a.m. and Plattsburgh at 3 p.m.
