FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia scored the first and last goals Friday, while Penn State Behrend did all the scoring in between during the Blue Devil Clarion Hotel Classic at University Stadium.

Parker Healy (East Aurora, N.Y.) put the Blue Devils on top 1:10 into the game while Joey Vuvic (East Aurora, N.Y.) completed the scoring in the 76th minute in the Blue Devils' 4-2 loss.

Behrend countered Fredonia's bookend goals with tallies by Anthony Crivelli, Matt Dziadosz, Nick Stewart, and Evan Augustine. The goal by Stewart in the 55th minute goes down as the game-winner.

Behrend goalkeeper Conton Smith made five saves. Fredonia's Sammy Torrelli (Akron, N.Y.) saved two shots.

In Friday's other men's game, Buffalo State improved to 4-0 -- its best start since 1983 -- with a 2-0 victory over Baldwin Wallace.

Saturday's schedule has both men's games at 4:30 p.m. -- Behrend vs. Buffalo State for the Classic title on the turf field, and Fredonia vs. Baldwin Wallace on the grass field.

Saturday is also Fredonia Soccer Cancer Awareness Day. The Blue Devil men will wear light blue jersey tops to commemorate the fight against prostate cancer.

The Fredonia women, who'll meet Grove City at 1 p.m., will wear teal jerseys, symbolic in the fight against ovarian cancer.

There will be an admission charge to the event -- $5 for adults, $3 for children, and $1 for college students with a valid ID.

Fundraising efforts will include a silent auction and 50-50 raffles.
