FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's lacrosse team rallied back from a large deficit against Oswego on Friday to pick up their second conference win.
After being down 7-1 midway through the first half, the Blue Devils picked up steam to register a final score of 11-10.
The Lakers scored on eight of their first nine shots before the Blue Devils began gaining offensive steam.
Marissa Cussins (Corning, N.Y. / Corning Painted-Post West) aided the team's comeback with a total of five goals, including four in the second half.
Katie Kleine (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) and
Kristie Kleine (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) each added two goals of their own.
Katie Kleine's four caused turnovers in Friday's game increased her career total to 105, which breaks the Fredonia school record set by Megan Mietelski in 2012 (102). Kleine also registered six ground balls and four draw controls.
Down 11-9 late in the second half, Oswego's Lindsey Eggers scored the Lakers' tenth goal with one minute remaining in play. Eggers won the following draw control, but

Oswego scored on 10 of 14 shots on goal in the game, while Fredonia scored on 11 of 24.
With Friday's match-up being the only SUNYAC women's lacrosse contest on the day, Fredonia is now second in the conference behind Cortland. Several SUNYAC games will take place around the state on Saturday (
