Jacque Law (Machias, N.Y.) led a trio of players in double figures in Fredonia's 80-70 women's basketball win Tuesday over Alfred University.
Law had 16 points in 21 minutes of duty while
Sabrina Macaulay (Newark, N.Y.) had 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and
Jenna Einink (Mayville, N.Y.) had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Altogether, 10 players entered the scoring column for the Blue Devils, who improved to 3-1 heading into conference play this weekend. They are home both dates -- 5:30 p.m. Friday vs. Oswego and 2 p.m. Saturday vs. Cortland.
Amanda Off had 28 points and McKaylee Croll had 22 points for Alfred, which fell to 0-6.
The Saxons' only lead in the game came in the opening minutes of the first quarter. The Blue Devils took their first lead of the game on a layup by Law, 6-5, and led thereafter.
The Blue Devils held decided advantages in points off turnovers (31-11), bench points (29-8), second-chance points (21-8), and points in the paint (36-20). They forced Alfred into 25 turnovers.
