CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Fredonia came within 12 seconds of earning its first SUNYAC win of the season Friday, ending with a 3-3 tie with the Cortland Red Dragons.

The Red Dragons rallied from a 3-1 deficit, culminated by Dan Broderick goal at 19:48 of the third period. The Red Dragons were skating with an extra attacker after pulling their goaltender.

The Calgary, Alberta trio of Taylor Bourne, Jared Wynia, and Damien Kulynych scored the Blue Devil goals, all in the first period, while Jeff Flagler (Owen Sound, Ont.) made 39 saves. Wynia's goal came on a power play. Zach White (Taberg, N.Y.) picked up assists and the last two Fredonia goals..

The Blue Devils finished the night at 0-4-3 in the SUNYAC and 4-7-5 overall. They are back in action 7 p.m. Saturday at Oswego.

The tie gave the Red Dragons a 3-5-2 record in the SUNYAC. They are 7-7-3 overall.
