GENESEO, N.Y. – After Fredonia guard Jamie Curry (Ransomville, N.Y. / Wilson) sank the first basket of the game to put the Blue Devils up 2-0 early, Geneseo unleashed an offense that led to a 76-41 win Friday in SUNYAC women's basketball.

Jacque Law (Machias, N.Y. / Machias) had 13 points, while Alexis Cheatham (Lockport, N.Y. / Lockport) had eight for the Blue Devils, who fell to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the SUNYAC. Geneseo improved to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the SUNYAC.

The Blue Devils lost their lead and never recovered. After Cheatham scored a 3-pointer at the 12-minute mark to close the gap to 12-9, the Devils went scoreless for eight minutes en route to a 34-16 halftime deficit.

Fredonia generated more offense in the second half, yet were outrebuonded by the Knights, who earned a 41-28 advantage in the game. Katie Devine (Clarence, N.Y. / Clarence) had seven Blue Devil rebounds.

Fredonia returns to SUNYAC competition Saturday afternoon at Brockport starting at 4 p.m.
