ALFRED, N.Y. -- Fredonia had five players in double figures in its 95-54 women's basketball win Tuesday over Alfred University.
Kaylyn Billups,
Alexis Cheatham, and
Jamie Curry had 15 points each to lead the Blue Devils (2-2).
Marissa Cussins added 14 points and
Sabrina Macaulay had 12.
Macaulay was the top rebounder with eight while Cheatham had seven assists. The Blue Devils had 24 assists on 32 baskets.
Up 39-35 at halftime, Fredonia dominated the second half 56-19. The Blue Devils connected on 20 of 31 shots from the field in the second half (64.5 percent), including 6 of 8 from beyond the arc. Conversely, Alfred shot 5 of 31 in the second half (16.1 percent).
Fredonia's dominance included outscoring Alfred 34-9 by non-starters.
The Blue Devils enter into SUNYAC competition this weekend with road games at Oswego on Friday night and at Cortland on Saturday afternoon.
