MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Fredonia men's basketball rebounded from its opening season loss with a 75-50 victory Sunday over Pitt.-Titusville in the consolation game of the Greg Richards '08 Memorial Tip-Off Tournament.
Freshman forward
Ian Helps (Bronx, N.Y. / Greater New York Academy) had 22 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils in both categories. Junior guards
Kyree Hull (Peekskill, N.Y. / Peekskill) and
Robert Lyles (Peekskill, N.Y. / Peekskill) added 12 points each. Hull also grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Blue Devils never trailed in the game and led 38-27 at halftime.
Next up for Fredonia are a pair of games next weekend in the The Knee Center of WNY Tournament at Medaille College, starting Friday at 4:30 p.m. against the host Mavericks. Nazareth and St. Mary's College of Maryland are the other two teams in the tournament.
