PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The No. 5 ranked Plattsburgh Cardinals improved to 5-0 with a 4-1 SUNYAC win over the Fredonia Blue Devils in men's hockey.
Four different players scored for Plattsburgh, which led 2-0 after one period and 3-0 after two.
The Blue Devils (1-2-3 overall / 0-2-2 SUNYAC) avoided the shutout when
Stephen Castriota (Bellport, N.Y.) tallied a short-handed goal at 2:27 of the first period. It was Castriota's third goal of the season.
Jared Wynia (Calgary, Alberta) and
Oskar Gerhardson (Haessleholm, Sweden) were credited with assists.
Plattsburgh outshot Fredonia, 40-31. Blue Devil goaltender
Christopher Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass) made 36 saves.
The Blue Devils return home for their next game, a SUNYAC meeting next Friday night against Buffalo State.
