Hewitt doubles, Storms breaks through

ALFRED, N.Y. -- Jake Hewitt (Duanesburg, N.Y. / Schalmont) won two individual events and Jacob Storms (Owego, N.Y. / Owego) won his first collegiate diving competition Friday in Fredonia's 135-108 loss to Alfred University.

Hewitt was first in both the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly events.

A sophomore, Storms finished first in 1-meter springboard diving while teammate Rafael Santiago (Middletown, N.Y./Middletown) was the 3-meter winner with an NCAA provisional qualifying score of 288.25 points.

Troy Lubanski (Leicester, N.Y. / York) in the 200-yard backstroke and Adam Clouthier (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport) in the 200-yard breast stroke were Fredonia two other individual winners.
