A senior from Jamestown, N.Y., Mikayla Capestrani broke Fredonia's indoor pole vault record for the second straight weekend, which makes her a repeat Fredonia Athlete of the Week recipient. She cleared 11 feet, 11 3/4 inches -- four inches higher than seven days earlier at Tiffin, Ohio -- to finish second, first among NCAA Division 3 women, at Cornell University's Marc Deneault Invitational on Saturday. She also moved to No. 16 on the NCAA Division 3 indoor performance list this winter.
