Hess, a senior from Clyde, N.Y., rallied 14 spots in the final 2,000 meters to finish fourth at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional in Rochester, N.Y. He final 2,000-meter time of 6:05.6 was the fastest in the entire field -- faster even than the race winner -- and completed his finishing time of  25:17.3 for 8,000 meters. He was named all-region and earned a spot in the NCAA D-3 men's cross country championship race Saturday in Wilmington, Ohio. It'll be Hess's second NCAA meet; he also qualified in 2012 as a sophomore.Â
