Anne Wasik joined the Blue Devil on a volunteer basis prior to the 2014 season. She took on an expanded role prior to the start of 2015, took a hiatus during the 2017, and returned prior to the start of the 2018 spring campaign.
A four-year player for the Blue Devils, Wasik hit .261 while appearing in 133 games -- 126 as a starter -- at both second base and in the outfield. Her best season came as a junior, in 2012, when she batted .330 with two home runs and 18 RBI as the Blue Devils went 26-9 -- school records for most wins and fewest losses in a season. She had a career total of 47 RBI and finished with 29 walks, currently No. 10 on the Blue Devil career list.
Wasik graduated in May 2013 with a double major. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Geophysics and Geology. She also took a minor in Mathematics. As an undergraduate, she performed internships in her field of study and has held a position of survey technician with Woodbury Surveying in Dunkirk, N.Y., since December 2012 -- while she was still attending classes.
A 2009 graduate of Fredonia High School, Wasik still resides in the area.
