Fredonia University

Stephen Hallberg enters his sophomore track & field season coming off a standout cross country season that included a SUNYAC title and regional All-American honors. During the 2024–25 track & field season, he posted PRs across multiple events, including the indoor 3K (9:41.39), mile (4:43.68), and outdoor 5K, where he placed third at SUNYACs in 15:43.91. He also notched bests in the 800, 1K, and 1500 throughout the year. Hallberg’s impact earned him Fredonia State Male Rookie of the Year honors as he continues to emerge as a key contributor in the Blue Devils’ distance group.

Outdoors: PR'd in the 1500 (4:19.09) and the 800 (2:07.36) at the Rochester Spring Twilight meet ... PR in the 5K at the SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, finishing third in 15:43.91 ... Fredonia State Male Rookie of the Year.

Personal: Son of Peggy and John Hallberg ... 2024 graduate of Jamestown H.S. ... Stephan Sipior was his high school coach ... when asked about choosing Fredonia, he replied "I don't run for Fredonia, I run for the Fredonia family." A relative, W. Edward Turner, is a 1941 Fredonia State alum.
