Mike Lysyj joined the Blue Devils coaching staff prior to the 2014-15 season. Lysyj is a 2013 graduate of SUNY Cortland, where he earned a degree in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Coaching, and a minor in Communications. He is currently working towards his Master’s Degree in Sport Management through SUNY Cortland.
As a Red Dragon, Lysyj compiled 77 points (39 goals and 38 assists) in 96 games over four seasons. Following his senior season, Lysyj signed a pro contract with The Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL, an “AA” affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild. The following season Lysyj spent time with the SPHL’s Peoria Rivermen and Mississippi Surge.
While at Cortland and during his summers, Lysyj worked and trained with multiple hockey companies, including Extreme Power Skating, Prestige Hockey Training, and The New Jersey Raiders.
Lysyj hails from Hillsborough, N.J., and is the son of Robert and Kathy Lysyj. His sisters Laura and Kyra are a nurse and school teacher, respectively.
