Steve Mackey joined the Fredonia Men’s Basketball coaching staff prior to the 2018-2019 season.

Mackey joins the staff after spending several years coaching at the high school, collegiate, and semi-professional level. Recently he was the head coach of the Erie Hurricane and the WNY Thundersnow, as well as an assistant for the Jamestown Jackals. Prior to that, he spent one year as an assistant coach at SUNY New Paltz.

Mackey possesses a master's degree in Sports Management/Coaching Theory from American University, a bachelor's in Mathematics from SUNY Oneonta, and an associate's degree in Math/Science from Columbia Greene Community College.

He resides in Mayville, N.Y. He is the proud father of a son Noah, and a daughter, Cameron.
