ONEONTA, N.Y. — The Fredonia State women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to SUNY Oneonta on Friday afternoon in SUNYAC action.
The Blue Devils were led by No. 4 singles player Rylyn Tunstall and No. 6 singles player Amelia Stathatos, who each turned in competitive performances against their Oneonta counterparts. Tunstall fell to Kiersten Rufrano, 6-4, 6-2, while Stathatos dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Reagan Knapp.
At the top of the lineup, Lucy Prevet battled Haley Peck before falling 6-3, 6-1 at first singles, while Gabbi Farr was defeated by Annika Cripe, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 singles. Allison Bartoszek and Emily Solazzo rounded out the singles lineup for the Blue Devils.
In doubles play, the pairing of Lucy Prevet and Gabbi Farr posted Fredonia State's strongest result, dropping a 6-3 decision to Oneonta's top team of Haley Peck and Annika Cripe.Â
Fredonia State will look to bounce back in its next SUNYAC match as the Blue Devils continue conference play Saturday at Delhi.
