FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The women's tennis team owns the distinction of scheduling Fredonia State's first regular-season home event of the 2026-27 academic year.

When the Blue Devils play host to Alfred University on Wed., Sept. 2, it will mark the start of nine months of competition by the university's 17 intercollegiate teams.This does not include home scrimmages by the women's and men's soccer teams scheduled for Aug. 23.

Overall, Blue Devil Head Coach Jane Gens has scheduled 13 matches -- six at home, six away, and one at a neutral site.

The home slate includes SUNYAC opponents Oswego and Cortland. The road schedule includes stops at Franciscan in Steubenville, Ohio, and Thiel College in Greenville, Pa. The neutral site match pits the Blue Devils against SUNYAC foe Plattsburgh at Cortland. In addition, the start of the SUNYAC tournament is Fri., Oct. 16 at the Binghamton Tennis Center. 

"I am really looking forward to the schedule this year," Gens said, "because we've picked up a few matches in PA and Ohio with colleges that are similar to us in size and skill. We are excited and looking forward to challenging ourselves this year with our next level of skills."
