LATROBE, Pa. -- The Fredonia State women's tennis team hit the road on March 29 for a matchup against Saint Vincent. The Devils battled throughout the lineup but ultimately fell 6–1.
Fredonia State opened the afternoon in doubles action, where Saint Vincent claimed all three matches. The No. 1 pairing of Lucy Prevet and Allison Bartoszek battled but fell 6–3, while the No. 2 and No. 3 teams were unable to gain momentum in 6–0 and 6–2 losses.
In singles play, the Devils continued to fight throughout the lineup. Amelia Stathatos delivered the lone point for Fredonia State at No. 5 singles, grinding out a three-set victory that included a tight tiebreak finish. Gabriella Farr and Rylyn Tunstall also pushed their matches to three sets at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, but came up just short.
Fredonia State returns to action on April 18, traveling to Brockport for a 1:00 p.m. match.
