ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Calie Hudson finished 11th and Emily Frank was 12th with personal-best runs Saturday at the SUNYAC Women's Cross Country championship race at Onenota's Fortin Park. By finishing in the top 15, both Blue Devils made the All-SUNYAC team, Hudson for the second time.

Running as a tandem during the 6,000-meter race, the pair established themselves as all-conference contenders from the opening gun.  They crossed the 2.1-kilometer checkpoint just one place apart and remained locked together through 5.5 kilometers, both posting a split of 21:43.1.

Hudson closed with a strong final 500 meters to finish in 23:26.8, while Frank followed in 23:33.1. Hudson held 11th place from the 2.1K mark through the finish, while Frank ran in 10th for much of the race before placing 12th overall.

Erin Smith added a 65th-place finish in 28:07.7. She moved up one spot between the 2.1K and 4K checkpoints and continued to battle through the second half of the race in the conference championship field of 86 women.

All three women recorded personal-bests. Hudson improved by 22.4 seconds, Frank by nearly 50 seconds, and Smith by 19 seconds.

Cortland won the team championship. The Blue Devils had an incomplete team score since they did not have the required five finishers.
