BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- For the second time in five days, the Fredonia State and Brockport hockey teams met up on the ice, and for the second time, Brockport was able to come away with a victory, defeating the Devils 5-2 on Saturday. The game was tied 2-2 after one period, and Brockport would score three times over the next two periods to claim the win.
The Devils (3-15-1) got both goals from
Luke Morris. His first came unassisted eight seconds into the game. After Brockport tied the game, Morris struck again at the 8:30 mark.
Brockport tied the game with 59 seconds left to play in the period on their first of three power plays.
The only goal of the second period was a buzzer beater to give the Golden Eagles their first lead, 3-2. It was also on a power play.
Brockport would tack on two more scores in the third to give the final. Thet were 3-6 on power plays while the Devils were 0-2.
Jameson Kaine made 29 saves in goal. Brockport's Dax Easter was credited with 17 stops as his team improves to 9-10-0.
The Devils travel to Skidmore and Plattsburgh next weekend.
