ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's cross country team finished 15th of 24 teams, which included a Division I squad and an alumni group, on Saturday at the Yellow Jacket 8k Invitation hosted by the U of R.
For the Devils,
Stephen Hallberg and
Edward Jourdan both finished in 27:07, with Hallberg edging him by a nose. It was Jourdan's lifetime best.
Scott Skikorski -- a U of R alum -- set the pace with a time of 25:11.5. The top college runner was RIT's Derek Koen in 25:17.2.
"We were a little too timid today," said head coach Tom Wilson. "There were some good performances, but race wise, we dropped the ball. But it being the first 8K of the season there's room to grow."
The Devils head to Roberts Wesleyan next weekend.
