CLERMONT, Fla. -- Fredonia State's Florida struggles continued Friday with losses to a pair of Wisconsin schools. The Blue Devils (0-10) fell to Wisconsin-River Falls, 7-3, and to Wisconsin-Stout, 15-0, at Hancock Park, on the heel of a pair of losses Thursday.
Brooke Caldwell,
Madison Devore, and
Kirsten Lajewski each had a hit and an RBI while
Kendall Phillips allowed one run on one hit with eight strikeouts over five innings of relief against River Falls. Devore,
Allie Wandell, and
Alexa Bogad all hit safely in the loss to Stout.
Thursday's action began with a 3-2 loss to Amherst and ended with a 9-0 loss to Simpson. Lajewski had the Blue Devils' lone hit in the opener. Phillips and
Sabrina Edwards-Smith combined for a solid outing in the circle with the latter yielding one run on three hits over 2 2/3 innings. Simpson accounted for all its scoring five homers in the second game Thursday. Wandell and
Kate Kenny hit safely for Fredonia State.
Madison Lowe pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
The Florida trip ends with two more games Saturday at Hancock Park: 12:15 p.m. vs Farmingdale State and 2:30 p.m. vs. Trinity College.
