FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team dropped a 73-65 game to Oswego on Friday evening. Freshman Alexys Neckers led the Devils with 16 points and Ashley Kalvitis and Payton Gilbert both chipped in nine points.

The Lakers opened a 10-point lead over the first seven minutes of play, leading 18-8. The Devils whittled away at the lead, until a three pointer by Neckers put them up 29-28 late in the second quarter. Fredonia State would trail by four points at the half, 34-30. Neckers led the Devils with seven points, and Giavanna White-Principio had 12 for Oswego.

The third quarter was back and fourth, with a three pointer by Jayssa Snelick giving the Blue Devils a 49-48 lead at the end of the frame.

Neckers opened the fourth with a three to put the Devils up by four, 52-48. A couple more lead changes, and the teams found themselves tied a 60-all after Neckers' fourth three of the game.

Oswego responded with the next seven points and would hold on for the victory. White-Principio, the reigning SUNYAC Player of the Week, finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds for the Lakers. Macey DeOrdio added 10 points and 15 boards, and Shania Iglesias had 18 points.
