FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's and women's cross country teams will make their way up to Plattsburgh this weekend for the SUNYAC Championships. The men will start at 11 a.m. and the women's race will go off at Noon at the Rugar Woods Course.
The results can be found at leonetiming.com.
Last season, the men finished third out of 10 teams.
Stephen Hallberg led the Devils with a third-place finish and was recognized as a First Team All SUNYAC selection and SUNYAC Hall of Fame Inductee (needs to finish in the Top 5 during one championship, finish in the Top 10 in two championships, or finish in the Top 15 in three championships).
Kevin Moser and
Edward Jourdan have consistently been among the top Fredonia State finishers for the men this year.
The women's team finished sixth overall in 2024.
Juliana Rodriguez and
Amilcar Centeno are the only two returning runners. The team is also made up of a trio of freshmen --
Emily Frank,
Siera Shenoy, and
Erin Smith.
Shenoy was the top Blue Devil finisher in the team's most recent meet at Rowan, crossing in 25:49.
In addition to Fredonia State, other competing teams will include Buffalo State, Canton, Cobleskill, Cortland, Delhi, Plattsburgh, Morrisville, New Paltz, Oneonta, Oswego, and Potsdam. At last year's championship, which was hosted by Oswego at the Fallbrook Recreation Center, Cortland won both the men's and women's titles.
Plattsburgh State last hosted the SUNYAC Cross Country Championship in 2015.
