POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Fredonia State men's soccer team picked up a much-needed SUNYAC win at Potsdam on Saturday.
Kye Castelluccio and
Ryan Ameis both scored to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 win over the Bears.
Castelluccio scored unassisted for the game's first goal in the 40
th minute. Ameis would provide insurance with an assist from
Chance LaCroix in the 65th minute.
Thomas McDonald earned the shutout in goal, needing only one save for the win. Overall, Fredonia State dominated at the offensive end, outshooting Posdam 14-1. The Devils held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Ian Schwartz made four saves and gave up two scores for Potsdam.
The Devils improve their record to 6-6-3 overall and 3-4 in the SUNYAC. They have two remaining conference contests, both at home, beginning with Morrisville next Wednesday. Then on Saturday, they will conclude the regular season playing host to Oswego.
