BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell 75-63 to Cortland in its SUNYAC home opener on Tuesday.
Kai Woods -- the reigning SUNYAC Player of the Week -- led the Devils with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Keenan Roberts Jr. added 10 points and
Brandon Kulakowski had nine. Both had team highs of seven rebounds.
Malik Jemison had seven assists, and
David Jordan had 11 points.
Cortland led for most of the first half and held a 40-33 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Devils cut it to a two-point lead on several occasions, but could not grab the lead.
After a pair of free throws by Roberts, the Devils trailed 53-51 midway through the half. Cortland then went on a 16-2 run and took control of the game.
Cortland (2-1 SUNYAC / 3-7 overall) was led by Kendall Arcuri with 16 points. Joel Davils had 12 points and 17 rebounds. Five different players scored in double digits for the Red Dragons.
The Devils (0-3 / 2-8) are back home on Friday vs. Plattsburgh at 6 p.m., and Saturday vs. Potsdam at 3 p.m.
