FREDONIA, N.Y. -- After taking a two-point lead after one quarter, the Fredonia State women's basketball team was outscored 23-7 in the second quarter and eventually fell to Oneonta, 68-52, on Friday.
Payton Gilbert led the Devils with 16 points, and
Grace Alexander had 13 points and four assists.
Kyla Smith had a team high eight rebounds to go along with nine points.
Oneonta had four players score in double digits, led by Amanda Zontag with 20 points.
As a team, the Devils won the battle on the boards, 32-30, but were slowed by 31 percent shooting from the floor. Oneonta hit 48 percent of its field goals.
The Devils take on New Paltz on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.
