FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team could not take advantage of of the friendly confines of Dods Hall, dropping a 69-61 game to Potsdam on Saturday. Three Devils scored in double digits, led by
Grace Alexander with 15, and
Allie Wandell and
Payton Gilbert had 14 apiece.
Potsdam was led by Jenna Cotter with 19 points and Carley Hill with 16.
A three pointer by Sarah Richards with 1:50 left in the first quarter gave Potsdam a 12-11 lead that it would hold the rest of the way. They held a 34-25 lead at the half.
Potsdam (6-5 / 2-2 SUNYAC) shot 7-14 from three-point range, and the Devils went 5-21. Fredonia State outrebounded the Bears, 28-27.
The Devils (4-7 / 1-4 SUNYAC) are back home vs. Morrisville on Tuesday. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m.
