LATROBE, Pa. -- The Fredonia State men's soccer team earned a 2-1 victory over St. Vincent College on Tuesday.
Chance LaCroix and
Brian Taylor each scored in the first half for the Devils, who improved to 3-2-1 on the season.
LaCroix scored in the 16th minute to open the scoring. Taylor's goal -- his team-leading third of the year -- came on a penalty kick in the 19th minute.
The Devils'
Thomas McDonald had a shutout going until the 86th minute when Javier Torres got the Bearcats on the board.
McDonald finished with four saves.
"It was a hard fought victory tonight," said head coach PJ Gondek. "We went up 2-0 at the half and talked about getting the third and putting them away but it never came. A win is a win and we will take it."
The Devils have a quick turnaround in a busy week, with a 7 p.m home game tomorrow (Wednesday) against Hilbert College.
