FREDONIA,N.Y. -- The Fredonia State Blue Devils defeated Alfred University by a final score of 5-2 to improve to 2-0 on the season. Fredonia State earned big wins with four Devils securing singles victories in addition to two doubles matches victories as well. 

Bernadette Gens defeated Elizabeth Madsen 6-1, 6-1 in her second outing of the season. Lucy Prevet followed it up with a win over Alyssa Seegert 6-2, 4-6, 10-3. Freshmen Claire LeFevre defeated Becca Epping 6-1, 6-4 while Sierra Allen picked up the Devils final singles victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Averill Hollond. Gabriella Farr played a tight match but fell in three sets 2-6, 7-5, 5-10 to Allison Windisch while Sophia Olson dropped a close match 4-6, 6-7 to Claire Lander

In doubles competition Gens/Prevet defeated Madsen/Windisch 7-6 while Farr/LeFevre beat Seegert/Epping 6-4 to both secure victories for the Devils. 

The Devils return to the court Saturday, September 7 to host Tiel College at 1:00 p.m.
